We are delighted to welcome Prof. Nico Verdonschot as our speaker for the upcoming SIIRI Implant Lecture.

Prof. Verdonschot is Head and Professor of the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, and Professor at the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands.

His scientific research focuses on orthopaedic biomechanics, particularly in computer modeling of the human musculoskeletal system.Prof. Verdonschot’s research focuses on orthopaedic biomechanics and the computer modeling of the human musculoskeletal system using advanced imaging techniques such as MRI, CT, and ultrasound. Prof. Verdonschot develops personalized biomechanical models that predict muscle activation, joint forces, and functional outcomes, enabling individualized analysis and treatment strategies. These models are applied to improve implant design, pre-clinical testing, rehabilitation, and to study tissue adaptation processes in clinical populations, advancing truly personalized orthopaedic care.

Therefore, his lecture is entitled:

“Towards Personalized Analysis and Treatment Using Dynamic Imaging and Musculoskeletal Modeling”

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christof Hurschler, who will be moderating this event.

The lecture will be held in English.
