We are very pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. med. Anke Leichtle from Hannover Medical School (MHH) as our guest speaker for our upcoming Implant Lecture.
With Prof. Leichtle, we are honored to introduce the new Director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, at Hannover Medical School. She continues the department’s long-standing tradition of implant-related research, which gained international visibility under her predecessor, Prof. Dr. Thomas Lenarz, and remains an important contribution to the SIIRI research network to this day.
Prof. Leichtle’s research focuses on diseases of the middle ear and the auditory system, as well as translational approaches in otorhinolaryngology. Her work centers on the immunological and molecular mechanisms underlying chronic inflammatory processes, particularly in middle ear disease. A special emphasis is placed on the role of the innate immune system and on the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to improve patient care. The overall aim is to translate fundamental scientific findings into clinically relevant, patient-oriented applications.
Accordingly, her lecture is titled:
„Infection, Inflammation and Regeneration in the Middle Ear – From Mechanisms to Translational Therapies“
We would also like to thank PD Dr. Nils Prenzler, who will be moderating this event.
