DESCRIPTION:We are very pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Dr. Smeets\, Deputy Clinical Director and Head of the Section “Regenerative Orofacial Medicine”\, as well as Head of Research at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf\, as part of our Implant Lecture Series. \nProf. Smeets’ research in the field of regenerative orofacial medicine focuses on improving implant materials\, utilizing tissue engineering for the development of replacement tissues\, creating new biomaterials to optimize implants\, and investigating damage mechanisms and repair strategies to successfully translate the latest findings into clinical practice. \nAccordingly\, his lecture is titled: \n“Implantology 4.0 – Where is the Journey Going?
