The 55th annual conference of the German Society for Biomedical Engineering (BMT) took place from October 5th to 7th, 2021, in Hanover and was a particularly significant moment for us. During this conference, we had the opportunity to present the Collaborative Research Center Transregio TRR 298 “Safety-integrated and infection-reactive implants” (SIIRI) for the first time in a special session to a broad professional audience. Led by Prof. Dr. Meike Stiesch, spokesperson of the research consortium, we presented groundbreaking and innovative approaches for the further development of implants. The topics presented provided deep insights into the immense potential of SIIRI research, which will significantly shape the future of implant technology.<\/p>\n

    Our participation in the BMT Annual Conference emphasized the significance of our work and the progress we have already made at this early stage of research.
