Registration and Call for abstracts

SIIRI warmly invites early career researchers to join EnFI 2026 to present their research, exchange ideas, and connect with peers and experts in a dynamic interdisciplinary environment.

About EnFI

EnFI brings together early-career researchers at the intersection of modern medicine, engineering, and information technology. These fields all rely on functional material interfaces—from medical implants to biochemical sensors and nanoelectronics. Advancing such complex systems requires close collaboration across disciplines that often differ in methods, models, and scientific languages.

In 2026, EnFI is joined with the International SIIRI Symposium and hosted by the Hannover Medical School (MHH), putting a special focus on functional implant interfaces.

The EnFI conference series fosters interdisciplinary exchange by connecting diverse scientific approaches, enabling collaboration and driving innovation.

Through short oral presentations, poster sessions, and keynote lectures, participants gain insight into a wide range of concepts, experimental approaches, and theoretical frameworks.

Participate in this dynamic conference to present your research, connect with peers and experts worldwide, and experience Hannover’s vibrant scientific and cultural environment—all while contributing to cutting-edge interdisciplinary research.

We invite PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to submit abstracts for:

  • Poster presentations with rapid fire session (3 minutes pitches)

Abstract submission deadline: 01. May 2026
Notification of acceptance: 22. May 2026

Abstracts should follow the provided template and are limited to one page.

The conference will take place at the Lower Saxony Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Implant Research and Development (NIFE), Stadtfelddamm 34 in 30625 Hannover, Germany.
